  1.                                                                         Linear Regression Pro. v2.2

This is a small application to calculate the slope, intercept, the correlation coefficient and most importantly, the errors for a series of x,y data. (i.e. y=mx+b). It should be of interest to anybody requiring a Mac interface for error analysis on experimental data. While many graphing programmes provide the slope and intercept, only large, expensive statistic packages provide the important error analysis on these components.

  7. This is  **another**  free upgrade to registered users.  
  8.  
  9.      Here's how to ay at $10 USD per copy. 
  10.  
  11.      You can now pay by email with kagi shareware services.
  12.      I recommend this as it is a great way to reward shareware authors.  
  13.      Please use it and send in the payments.  It really is very fast, simple and secure.

  15.      Single user copies cost $15 USD. 
  16.      A Site License costs $100 (roughly equal to 6 users) and covers
  17.      all people for your organization within a 160 kilometer radius
  18.      of your site (100 miles). One big advantage of a Site License is
  19.      that you do not need to keep track of how many people at your site
  20.      are using the software.
  21.      A World-Wide License costs $250 and it covers all locations for
  22.      your organization on the planet earth.

  24.      Paying for programmes written by MacSOS is fairly simple. Open the Register program
  25.      that accompanies this programme. Enter your name, your email address,
  26.      and the number of single user licenses you desire for each program
  27.      you wish to purchase (or Site or Word-Wide licenses). Save or Copy
  28.      or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and
  29.      payment to Kagi Shareware. More specifics on the Register program
  30.      to follow. Kagi Shareware handles my payment processing.

  32.      If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or fax
  33.      the data to Kagi Shareware. Their email address is
  34.      shareware@kagi.com and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You
  35.      can either copy the data from Register and paste into the body of
  36.      an email message or you can Save the
  37.      data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message.
  38.      There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty
  39.      small. If you have a fax modem, just Print the data to the Kagi
  40.      fax number.

  42.      Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will
  43.      receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed. Payments
  44.      sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct
  45.      internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.

  47.      If you are paying with Cash or USD Check you should print the data
  48.      using the Register application and send it to the address shown on
  49.      the form, which is:

  56.      You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries
  57.      but at present if you pay via check, it must be a check drawn in
  58.      US Dollars. Kagi Shareware cannot accept checks in other
  59.      currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around USD
  60.      15 per check and that is just not practical.
  61.      If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data
  62.      into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment
  63.      method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your
  64.      accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that
  65.      mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their
  66.      payment.
  67.      Kagi Shareware can not invoice your company, you need to act on my
  68.      behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on
  69.      your end.
  70.      Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash, Check
  71.      or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know, there is
  72.      still no technology to transfer physical objects via fax or email
  73.      and without the payment, the form cannot be processed.
  74.      Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi Shareware
  75.      and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a
  76.      correct email address, you will hear from Kagi Shareware when the
  77.      form is processed.
  78.      Protection
  79.      MacSOS programmes have a protection scheme and when you pay, we tell you
  80.      how to indicate to our programmes that you have paid the shareware
  81.      fee. If you do not have an email address, please enter your
  82.      complete postal address and please remember, we do not know what
  83.      country you live in so please enter that into the postal address
  84.      also.

  88. Linear Regression Pro.

  90. This is a useful, small programme which could have been accomplished in excel, but I wanted to learn how to programme the Macintosh. I have tried to optomize the code so that it takes up as little hard disk real estate as possible.

  92. Each cell can be typed into directly ala 123.
  93. Extra long numbers (up to 63 digits) are supported. Extra long cells can be moved to a more convenient place for data manipulation by option clicking on the cell (thanks MacTutor). 
  94. Copying and Pasting from other graphing programmes is supported.
  95. A basic plot of the data is now possible to give you a quicklook at the results.

  97. This programme is system 7 friendly. That is, it supports the Core Apple Events.
  98. Drag and drop of text files is supported.
  99.  
  100. This version will handle only 40 rows and is now shareware (simply because I am selling this programme here at the University and so to be fair the ftp version should also have a nominal charge).
  101. Source code is available for those who want to see how the File Manager, Sane, List Manager, etc. are used by a beginner!!

  108. The icons for this programme has changed since version 1.1. It's probably time to rebuild your desktop anyway so why not reboot and hold down command-shift as the mac comes on line again.
